RAPTORS BLOG: Great to see three Montrealers thriving in the NBA
What a moment it was Sunday to see three Montrealers starring in the NBA. The GTA gets most of the attention, with a bit for British Columbia, but Montreal’s always had a ton of talent too. Nobody saw Chris Boucher and Lu Dort being impact NBAers. And while Khem Birch at one time was ranked the best centre in his high school class, he bounced from Pittsburgh to UNLV and wasn’t drafted, having to carve out a niche and build his game in Europe before being signed by Orlando. Their interesting journeys will make it easier for those coming up behind them. Nobody will be sleeping on Montreal anymore.

Ottawa BlackJacks draft three U Sports players, including Laurier star guard Ali Sow
The Ottawa BlackJacks took two basketball players with local connections in the Canadian Elite Basketball League U Sports Draft Wednesday, grabbing Ali Sow of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (fourth overall), Guillaume Pepin of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees (11th) and Graddy Kanku of the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks (18th).
